SIP A VIRTUAL DRINK IN A PARALLEL WORLD

The Happy Duration

Hemp Bloc, Served Cold

This digestif, popular amongst the Euro diplomatic crowd is served cold on a ‘bloc’ of ice. The THC spliced vodka and rosé spritz, riffs off the Soviet and French concocted antidote to the fossil-fuel industry of 1989, a game changer in this universe’s Cold War.

Stranded Oil Tanker

Say "Cheers!" with this refreshing blend of dark rum, grenadine and cola, a tribute to Tankers for Peace, a co-operative of former Oil-Tanker crews, who upcycle the mechanical and metal bones of stranded oil supertankers, long left idle along the Malacca Strait (once a major maritime trading passage for oil prior to the industry's bust).

The Green Toddy

For those desirous of a heart-warming drink to imbibe with loved ones as the colder months descend, this alcohol-free soul (and solar!) elixir is sure to hit the spot. With ingredients sourced in solidarity from community gardens and cooperative distilleries, this refillable solar-heated glass of alcohol free goodness, is served piping hot courtesy of a worker run social enterprise at the forefront of solar technology, based on Gunaikurnai Land, West Gippsland, Victoria.

These universes have played out quite differently to ours...

All orders placed will receive a fascinating report - penned by one of our Many Worlds Voyagers - describing the extraordinary series of historic events punctuating the realities where each of these drinks live.

The Parallel Effect was conceived and developed on the unceded land of the Awabakal and Worimi peoples, the Gadigal people of the Eora nation and the Boon Wurrung and Woiwurrung (Wurundjeri) peoples of the Kulin Nation. We pay respect to Indigenous elders of the past, those who live among us and those who are emerging.

The Parallel Effect is generously supported by Next Wave, The Graham F. Smith Peace Foundation, Punctum, Darebin Arts Speakeasy, Origami Flight and the City of Melbourne COVID-19 Arts Grants.
